DETROIT On Wednesday night, the Detroit Red Wings defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 6-4 thanks to a goal and an assist from Patrick Kane in the third period.
Additionally, Lucas Raymond and J.T. Compher both supplied an assist and a goal. The Red Wings’ other goals came from Joe Veleno, Michael Rasmussen, and Alex DeBrincat.
In his first game since November 25, Alex Lyon made 15 saves. Due to a lower-body injury, he missed the previous nine games.
The Flyers trailed 4-2 after two periods but knotted the game at 4 early in the third with to goals from Travis Konecny, Noah Cates, Ryan Poehling, and Owen Tippett. 18 saves were made by Samuel Ersson.
After Simon Edvinsson left due to an upper-body injury, Detroit used five defensemen for the final two periods.
