Christmas, complete with holly, is just around the corner.
Additionally, there is a city in Pennsylvania that is more adept than others at embracing the Christmas spirit.
Pittsburgh is the second-best city in the US for celebrating the holiday, per a survey done and released by WalletHub.
After WalletHub analysts evaluated 100 of the most populous cities in the United States based on five major criteria—Traditions & Fun, Observance, Generosity, Shopping, and Costs—as well as pertinent submetrics like Christmas Tree Farms per Capita, The Steel City was able to secure this position.
According to the survey, Pittsburgh is the second-best location for Christmas celebrations in 2024, partly due to its excellent reputation for receiving gifts and sweets. Pittsburgh boasts the third-lowest average price for a bottle of wine and is one of the cities with the most sweets stores and chocolatiers per capita.
Additionally, it boasts the seventh-highest number of card shops, eighth-highest number of toy stores, and eleventh-highest number of hobby shops per person. Furthermore, with the eighth-highest percentage of its population identifying as Christian, Pittsburgh is a fairly religious city. Finding a spot to attend Christmas Eve or services is simple because it also has the fifth-most churches per population.
Unfortunately, Atlanta, Georgia, won the gold. Third place went to Seattle, Washington, to complete the top three.
According to Chip Lupo, an analyst at WalletHub, some areas are significantly more cost-effective than others during the holiday season because inflation has increased the cost of Christmas parties, gifts, food, and transport.
The finest cities are not only reasonably priced, but also have plenty of people celebrating, lots of venues for Christians to worship, people who donate freely to charities, and lots of enjoyable things to do with friends and family.
