A member of Penn State’s renowned class of 2022 recruits is returning to the portal.
Ken Talley, a sophomore defensive end for Michigan State, said on social media Tuesday that he plans to use the transfer portal when it formally opens on Monday.
Former four-star prospect Talley, who was ranked ninth in Pennsylvania in 2022, enrolled at Penn State that summer but left before fall camp ended. He was never a Nittany Lion on the field.
Talley made his debut in 2023 after redshirting the 2022 season after enrolling at Michigan State. Since then, he has participated in seven games and recorded 11 total tackles and 1.5 sacks. Before the 2024 season, Jonathan Smith took Mel Tucker’s place as coach, although the Philadelphia native vowed to stay with the Spartans.
In his post, Talley stated, “I’ve decided it’s time to take my talents elsewhere and make the most of my two years of eligibility remaining.” I appreciate your undying love and support, Spartan Nation. Being a Spartan Dawg will always make me proud!
