After defeating No. 7 Notre Dame 34-23 in Monday’s national championship game, the Ohio State Buckeyes, the 2025 college football national champions, were seeded eighth in the new 12-team College Football Playoff field.
Fanatics launched an entire line of commemorative merchandise, including hats, T-shirts, hoodies, and much more, as the confetti fell on the Buckeyes’ thrilling triumph on the largest stage in sports.

After falling to rival Michigan in its season finale for the second time in the regular season and the fourth time in a row, Ohio State once appeared hopeless. However, the Buckeyes showed off their enormous potential throughout the season, losing only to No. 1 Oregon (32-31) in a back-and-forth match in their fourth game. Ohio State defeated two top-5 teams along the way, No. 3 Penn State on the road (20-13) and No. 5 Indiana at home (38-15), to win five straight games following the Ducks’ setback and earn the No. 8 seed in the playoff bracket.
Before overcoming Notre Dame on Monday night, Ohio State defeated No. 9 Tennessee (42-17), No. 1 Oregon (41-21), and No. 5 Texas (28-14), saving its best football for last in the postseason mix.
