There isn’t much to learn from the Pittsburgh Steelers’ failure to select Kenny Pickett in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, according to team president Art Rooney II.

If the organization looks into correcting quarterbacks, Rooney was questioned about the statement that the team must fix them. It doesn’t appear to be a major factor that the team will consider when choosing their next quarterback.

Kenny’s failure to be our long-term quarterback here is certainly frustrating, in my opinion, Rooney added. There may not be much to learn from that, in my opinion. We simply need to focus on the next chance and make sure we evaluate it well the next time.

After dominating at Pitt, Pickett was Pittsburgh’s main starter for two seasons. When he was dealt to Philadelphia for draft picks in March, his tenure with the Steelers came to an end. As a result, Justin Fields started six games for the Steelers and was Russell Wilson’s backup for the remainder of the season.
