Xazavian Valladay, a former running back with the Pittsburgh Steelers, has signed a reserve/future contract with the New Orleans Saints, the team announced. After joining the Saints’ practice squad in November of 2024, the 26-year-old Valladay played with them for the second half of the season.

Valladay has played for a number of clubs over his career, including the Saints, Pittsburgh Steelers, Houston Texans, and New York Jets.

He showed himself to be an explosive rushing back throughout his time in training camp with the Steelers in 2023. During the scouting phase, Valladay accomplished a 40-inch vertical jump, a 10-foot-3-inch broad jump, and a 4.46 40-yard sprint.

The Jets swiftly snatched him up when the Steelers let him go. He attended training camp with the Jets in the 2024 summer after spending the whole 2023 season on their practice squad. Valladay was cut after first joining their practice squad and became a free agent.

Valladay was regarded as one of the top undrafted free agents in the class when he was signed by the Texans in 2022 as an undrafted free agent out of Arizona State with a sizeable guarantee. But only a few weeks into training camp, they let him go. Valladay hasn’t participated in an NFL game yet.
