Pittsburgh –Mike Tomlin, the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, stated he anticipated George Pickens to start against the Cleveland Browns just three hours prior to kickoff. However, Pickens was labeled as inactive just ninety minutes prior to kickoff.
Before someone approached Scotty Miller and ordered him to change into his uniform because he was playing, he was dressed in street clothes. According to Mike Williams, he discovered he was starting at the same time as everyone else. Pickens was reportedly anticipated to play, but the Steelers opted against it after some deliberation.
Then why?According to Tomline, there would have been a small sample size if Pickens had participated. Second, the group trusted Miller to come forward and create some plays.
George Pickens, G.P., was marked as dubious. To tell the truth, we didn’t think he would be able to play the kind of amount of snaps that we believed would justify giving him a uniform. We didn’t want a little issue to grow into a major one. We fitted Scotty Miller with a helmet. As you can see, healthy guys usually take care of the rest when you put the helmet on them. For us, Scotty performed a few plays. I am grateful for that,” Tomlin remarked.
In order to avoid making a commitment that might not materialize, Tomlin stayed ambivalent about Pickens’ status for the upcoming week. Pickens is therefore still doubtful against the Philadelphia Eagles, but even if he does not play against the Eagles, it appears that his hamstring strain is not severe enough to require a lengthy absence.
