Pittsburgh –Mike Tomlins, the coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, stated on Tuesday that he thinks several of his coaching staff members’ contracts do not extend past the 2025 season, which may serve as the catalyst for staff changes.
Although Tomlin’s contract is set to expire in 2027, there may be major changes to his staff.
“I believe that one aspect of our business is the change in coaching staffs. Although I understand that change is a part of it and that not all of our coaches are under contract, we are still in the very early phases of making those kinds of decisions and having those kinds of conversations,” Tomlin stated.
If there are any changes, it will probably be to offensive line coach Pat Meyer, defensive coordinator Teryl Austin, and other assistants who may be leaving. Tomlin has promised to bring about change, and his assistants will be the first to contribute to the Steelers’ need for a philosophical and vocal overhaul.
The Steelers might make those announcements as early as Wednesday, but they might hold off until they go through all the details. Those changes are frequently made soon after the season ends.
