According to the National Weather Service (NWS), Boston, Massachusetts experienced heavy snowfall from February 8–9, 2025, with accumulations up to 9 inches in certain places. Parts of northeastern Massachusetts saw the most snowfall, with several inches falling in the central and western regions as well.

The greatest recorded totals, according to NWS statistics, were 7.8 inches in Peabody, 8.2 inches in Manchester, New Hampshire, and 9.0 inches in Quincy. Worcester received about 5.3 inches, and Boston received about 6.5 inches. The amount of snowfall varied throughout the state, with western areas like Pittsfield receiving less than 2.5 inches.

Road personnel had to clear major streets and roads overnight due to the snowfall, which disrupted transport. Because of the persistent icy conditions, commuters were advised to use caution. There have been some reports of school cancellations and delays, especially in locations with significant accumulation.

Residents are advised by officials to travel cautiously on untreated roads and to keep an eye on weather updates. Icy spots can last into the weekend as temperatures are predicted to stay low.
