According to a Facebook post from a responding agency, a man who was trapped in a grain silo was rescued by Lancaster County fire firefighters on Wednesday.

After being sent to Rapho Township, volunteers from the Fire Department Mount Joy (FDMJ) discovered a man trapped up to his arms in a grain bin, according to the post.

During the rescue, first responders deployed a cofferdam, a small container that made it possible to remove the grain surrounding the victim.

The man was brought to the hospital as a precaution, according to the fire department, but they did not report any injuries resulting from the incident.

The silo rescue was also attended by crews from the Maytown-East Donegal Township Fire Department, FDMJ, Rheems Fire Department, and Columbia Borough Fire Department Station 80.
