Caribou, Maine is preparing for two major winter storms, the first of which is predicted to come Thursday and the second of which could occur next weekend. Travel and everyday activities in the region may be impacted by snowfall.
The Caribou National Weather Service predicts that sporadic snow showers may occur overnight as a result of growing clouds on Sunday evening. Monday and Tuesday are predicted to see isolated to dispersed snow showers, mostly north of the Katahdin area. Before a dry and sunny Wednesday, there’s also a chance of a snowstorm on Tuesday.
The focus then turns to Thursday, when a storm system is predicted to cover portions of Maine with several inches of snow. Residents should be ready for dangerous travel conditions even though the amount of snowfall is yet unknown. Details are still being worked out, but next weekend might see another snow storm hit the area.
Residents are advised by officials to keep abreast of forecasts and get ready for any interruptions caused by winter weather. Drivers ought to be cautious and make appropriate plans. We’ll provide more information as the storms get closer.
