On the same day that police detained the suspected murderer at a McDonald’s less than a mile away, a front desk employee at an Altoona hotel claimed to have had an odd encounter with Luigi Mangione, the 26-year-old man suspected of shooting UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson to death in New York.

When a masked Mangione entered the Horseshoe Curve Lodge on Monday in search of a room, John Kuklis, who works at the front desk, said he could tell something wasn’t right, according to ABC News.
