Logan Collette is not a name you would typically see at the top of headlines, but following his performance on Wednesday, the senior guard sent a message to the Mid-Penn Conference.

This is because East Pennsboro (2-1) defeated Cedar Cliff 54-50 thanks to a strong performance from the first-year varsity product, who took advantage of his opportunity off the bench.
I’ve never played basketball in high school, so it’s funny. Collette informed PennLive. I’m in my first season officially. I’m learning how to play with structure, be patient, and figure everything out as I go along. A fantastic start to our first home game.
Highlights Haydn Lay contributed nine points and seven rebounds, Ryan Seibert finished with 15 points and eight rebounds, and Collette finished with 17 points, including three 3-pointers.
Trey Seilhammer added firepower to give CC an early, 18–13 lead at the end of the first quarter, while Jayvion Walker sank three treys to light up the Colts early in the game.
With baskets from Lay and further assistance from Ryan Seibert and Ali Alami, the Panthers went on an 8-3 run to calm down after the first quarter.
At halftime, the score was knotted at 21.
Collette scored 13 points in the third quarter as the Panthers maintained a slim lead, 40-37, despite CC’s efforts to change up their defensive system and face-guard Lay as aggressively as possible.
Seilhammer, Walker, and Mohamed Ahmed gave it their all throughout the last stretch as the Colts tried to come up, but Seibert, Collette, and Matt Shroyer scored a ton of baskets and free throws to put it away.
THE STARS
Siebert finished with 15 points and 8 rebounds, Lay contributed 9 points and 7 rebounds, while Collette finished with 17 points.
Seilhammer finished with 13 points and Walker led the Colts with 14 points, both of whom made a total of seven three-pointers.
UP NEXT?
While Cedar Cliff fell to 0-1 and will travel to York City to play a new-look York High Friday, East Penn improved to 2-1 and will travel to Hummelstown on Saturday to play Lower Dauphin.
