A legendary doommetal band intends to get back together with one of its iconic singers.

Unfortunately, it will only be for one night.

According to Loudwire, Messiah Marcolin will sing with the Swedish band Candlemass during this year’s Rock Hard Festival in Athens.

Rock Hard Greece invited Blind Guardian to a covert acoustic performance in 2015 to commemorate its tenth anniversary. Twenty lucky readers will receive free admission, according to a post on the event’s Facebook page.

We are now stepping up the ante for its 20th anniversary by doing something that no other Greek music media outlet has yet to do: holding a two-day festival on September 12 and 13, 2025, at the Technopolis City of Athens, with a number of international acts and establishing a brand-new, enormous cultural event called the Rock Hard Festival Greece.

“We are pleased to announce a one-time world exclusive performance of CANDLEMASS featuring former vocalist Messiah Marcolin for the inaugural event,” the tweet continues. Messiah will be performing live with the band for the first (and only) time in well than two decades.

Marcolin sang with the band from 1986 to 1991 and again from 2002 until 2006, according to Metal Injection. He provided the vocals for four of the band’s iconic albums: Candlemass (2005), Tales of Creation (1989), Ancient Dreams (1988), and Nightfall (1987).

The last time Marcolin departed the group was in 2006. He has since provided guest vocals for various well-known Swedish heavy metal bands, including Amon Amarth and Therion.
