Sylvester Stallone is not overly pleased of his 1994 FedEx letter attempting to end his relationship with Jennifer Flavin, his future wife.
When Stallone, 78, and Flavin, 56, sat down with Fox News anchor Sean Hannity on the Dec. 3 broadcast of Fox Nation’s new long-form interview show, Sean, they made the humiliating admission.
The Rockystar apologized in the interview for not telling Flavin how he felt in person after six years of dating instead of mailing her a breakup letter.
He admitted to being a coward and stated, “That’s the most insincere breakup you can get.” You write it down because you lack the courage to do it in person.
While acknowledging that a part of him didn’t want to break up with Flavin, he continued by saying that his past relationship experience caused him to make a poor decision.
Flavin previously discussed the split in an interview with People in 1994.
He wrote me a handwritten, six-page letter in pen. She said at the time that it was really shoddy. After six years, you can’t simply write someone off in a letter. I wasn’t going to try to plead with him to return to me or anything. All I wanted to do was talk.
When Flavin first received the letter, he was unaware of the reason for the separation, but he later learned that it was due to his involvement with supermodel Janice Dickinson.
However, the next year, the couple reconciled and were married in 1997.
Stallone said to Hannity, “I mean, I couldn’t live without her.” She really is everything to me. My moon and my sun. Everything.
However, marriage did not guarantee that the pair would not face more challenges.
After 25 years of marriage to the Hollywood actress, Flavin filed for divorce in 2022, but the two ultimately decided to get back together, according to People.
Together with their three kids, Sophia, Sistine, and Scarlet, the couple commemorated their 27th wedding anniversary in May.
