This well-known lawnmower is being recalled.
This recall was prompted by possible burn and fire risks associated with a mower engine problem.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a press statement outlining the recall of approximately 39,000 Kawasaki USA John Deere ZTrak Zero Turn Mowers with Kawasaki engines across the country. In Canada, 2,600 more are being recalled.
According to the announcement, the mower’s engine’s voltage regulator may malfunction when the product is being used or stored, resulting in overheating and potential fire and burn risks.
According to the announcement, there have been 26 reports of melting and/or smoke, and five fires have been reported as a result of this problem. As of the time this article was published, no one has been hurt.
Both the model number and John Deere are printed on the front beneath the seat of the green and yellow mowers in question. Between October 2018 and September 2024, they were offered for sale at John Deere stores for between $8,000 and $11,500.
People are strongly advised to cease using the recalled lawn mowers right now. For a free repair, one can also get in touch with a John Deere dealer.
According to Kuwasaki and John Deere, they are currently getting in touch with each known buyer directly to let them know what’s going on.
