The draft compensation that would return to the Bears in the Fields transaction would not be affected if the Steelers choose to include Fields in their Wild Card Round matchup.
Fields will have a 4-2 quarterbacking record at the end of the season after throwing for 1106 yards, five touchdowns, and just one interception. He also scored five more touchdowns and more over 200 yards on the ground.
Although Fields was the Steelers’ backup, he is a free agent this offseason and is probably in line for a starting position elsewhere. Given that Russell Wilson’s difficulties have cast doubt on Wilson’s future in Pittsburgh, it is possible that Fields will return in 2025.
