The city of PhiladelphiaAgainst the Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Justin Fields sustained an abdominal injury that will keep him out of the game for the remainder of it. Fields sustained the injury on the game’s only run.
Eagles safety Reed Blankenship struck Fields as he tumbled late in the play.Fields did not appear uncomfortable and did not instantly descend into the field. Fields hasn’t played since the injury, though, which was reported during the second half.
All of the snaps have gone to Russell Wilson, but the Steelers have enjoyed switching up their offense with the Fields package. Instead, following the injury, that is not an option for the Steelers for the remainder of the game.
Fields will be sidelined for the remainder of the game, joining cornerback Donte Jackson. Jackson’s back issue from last week’s game against the Cleveland Browns got worse. He is being replaced by James Pierre.
