After battling illness, beloved and well-respected entertainment news journalist, author, and host Robin Ayers passed away on Thursday at the age of 44.
Both KBLA Talk 1580 on Facebook and her fellow radio program host Tavis Smiley on X announced Ayer’s passing.
It is with great regret that KBLA Talk 1580 announces the demise of our wonderful colleague Robin Ayers on Thursday, December 05, on behalf of her beautiful family. Robin was a ray of sunshine. According to the article, her beautiful smile was visible over the radio.
We all admired her tremendous talent, cherished her cheerful disposition, revered her belief in God, and celebrated her love of family, the post went on to say. All of Robin’s family, especially her husband Rob and her twin daughters Brooklyn and Madison, are in our prayers and thoughts.
Please join us in prayer for the Ayers family as they face the challenges that lie ahead. The article ended by saying that KBLA Talk 1580 will pay a special homage to Robin at the right time.
For the previous two years, Ayers was well-known as the presenter of KBLA Talk 1580, where she hosted The RA Report with Robin Ayers every weekday from 6 to 7 p.m. She developed a devoted fan base that appreciated her analysis of pop culture and entertainment.
She was a reporter and entertainment news correspondent for EURweb before joining the station.
“I am deeply saddened by the passing of Robin Ayers, along with the EURweb staff and family,” stated Lee Bailey, the publisher and founder of EURweb. Her work gained depth and authenticity from her love of telling stories and her uncompromising dedication to the truth.
She was a friend as well as a coworker, and her influence on EURweb and the lives she impacted will always be remembered, Bailey continued.
Ayers stated last year that she was fighting leiomyosarcoma, a rare and severe disease that attacks soft tissues that are typically in the belly or uterus, even though her cause of death was not disclosed.
She also survived two vehicle accidents last year and continued to work after being diagnosed with cancer.
Fans flooded social media with condolences and support for the journalist’s family following the devastating news.
Over Thanksgiving break, Ayers, her husband Rob, and their twin daughters, Brooklyn and Madison, recently celebrated the twins’ eighteenth birthdays.
On her social media pages, celebrities also posted condolence messages.
Heartbroken, dear sister, I hope to see you again in the kingdom someday. Rest in peace, Jay Pharaoh, a former member of the SNL cast, authored.
Thank you, Robin. I appreciate the times we spent together, the laughs, and your smile. My heart is devastated, and it doesn’t even feel proper to express this. Christina Milian is a singer-songwriter and actress.
