With their next game, the Cavaliers want to break out of a recent slump in which they have dropped three games in a row and four of their last six, almost matching their six-game losing streak from the previous season. After suffering consecutive road losses to the Philadelphia 76ers (132–129) and Houston Rockets (109–108), Cleveland went home and fell to Houston (135–131) in a close game, despite scoring 47 points in the fourth quarter.
With a 12-5 record in their last 17 games, the Pistons have improved significantly from dropping to 11-17 on December 19. They are currently on a five-game road trip and are 2-1. They will play Cleveland on Monday and Indiana on Wednesday before Detroit returns home for six games in a row.
