Duke enters the weekend with nine consecutive victories, including four double-digit victories over Georgia Tech (82-56), Virginia Tech (88-65), SMU (89-62) and Pittsburgh (76-47) in ACC play. Despite their seeming balance, the Blue Devils are mostly driven by their standout freshman Cooper Flagg, who leads the team in assists (3.7 apg), steals (1.6 spg), blocks (1.3 bpg), scoring (17.5 ppg), and rebounds (8.5 rpg).
Notre Dame is in the bottom four with a 1-3 league record and a 7-8 overall record, while Duke is dominating the ACC. Before Saturday’s game, the Irish had a 4-0 start, dropped five straight, won three, then lost three straight ACC games. Their losses have come in quick succession. Last time out, Notre Dame lost to NC State 66-65 after blowing a seven-point lead in the closing minutes.
