What is it about our PennLivePenn State football fans that I truly enjoy? Their broad inquiries concerning James Franklin and the Nittany Lions.
This week is Penn State vs. Oregon, and the Lions are vying for their second Big Ten championship in Franklin’s eleven years as Penn State’s head coach.
Making a strong run in the college playoffs later this month is the objective, though.
With this following question, we have a winner.
For clarification, a few remarks and questions have been revised.
From Joe L.
Do you believe that Penn State’s upcoming trip to Indianapolis for the Big Ten title game will ultimately improve or worsen their chances of contending for the national championship? Having said that, is there a practical method to win it all?
Excellent question, Joe. I understand why some Penn State supporters are a little interested in the Big Ten championship game and whether the Lions would have benefited from taking the week off. Both Ohio State players and their supporters, in my opinion, would likely have different opinions.
I believe the Lions are as dangerous as any team in the playoffs if Penn State upsets or plays the Ducks off balance. PSU has an excellent defense, and I think Andy Kotelnicki’s strategy will make things difficult for Oregon. Because of his effect this season, I have been a huge booster of Lions safety Jaylen Reed. He is deserving of greater notice. In this game, Reed is an important player.
My forecast for the game is still on my mind. This game needs to be in the 20s for PSU to win. It can be a difficult night for the Lions if the game reaches the 30s.
To address the possible drawback of Penn State’s Big Ten title game presence, let me say this: If the Lions lose badly on Saturday night, it will not be good for them. However, PSU has performed well in every game away from Beaver Stadium, and we are up against some gifted, competitive, and well-coached players. It would be advantageous to have the week off. It would be more significant to have a strong performance in Indianapolis.
