HarrisburgIn order to reinstate salary increases for her employees that the city council had reduced and to remove an increase the council had put to its own staff complement, Mayor Wanda Williams said on Monday that she had vetoed portions of the 2025 city budget.

The council claims that Williams has not sufficiently defined and justified the ongoing battle over city jobs, which is largely similar to the budget season conflict that occurred last year. The move’s legal justification is based on how and when the budget amendments and final ordinance were presented to the mayor.
