“I sensed the coaches’ vibe,” Brannon remarked. They greeted me warmly as soon as I stepped in, and I’m happy to report that I accepted their warm welcome.
Since Brannon’s offers didn’t start coming in until this year, his recruitment process got off to a slow start, which made him a little nervous.
But he started to feel some comfort when those offers started coming in. Additionally, Brannon had offers from Seton Hill, Kutztown, and Sacramento State.
It’s a relief because I was going through some difficult times during the recruiting process. I was somewhat relieved when my first offer arrived, and I was even more relieved when my second offer arrived.
Brannon made a small offensive contribution for the Cougars, but his strength was on defense.
He recorded 58 total tackles, four tackles for loss, and tied for the team-high five interceptions, demonstrating his ability to be a good playmaker and ballhawking cornerback.
The newest defensive back for Albany joins a defense that finished 4-8 but gave up the second-fewest passing yards in the CAA.
The Great Danes, who finished dead last in the CAA in interceptions (4) in 2024, will greatly benefit from Brannon’s playmaking.
