This week, a fueling station will open at a Weis Markets in Dauphin County.

The Sunbury franchise said on Wednesday that it will celebrate at its location at 4300 Linglestown Road in Lower Paxton Township on Thursday at 11 a.m.

There will be a ribbon cutting and a presentation of a $500 cheque to the Linglestown Fire Department.

Six petrol pumps are available at the store’s petrol N Go Fuel Center, which is open everyday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The Weis shop is undergoing a wider expansion project that includes the fueling station.

The business will expand by 11,575 square feet, bringing its total area from 45,125 square feet to 56,700 square feet.

To make it easier for the business to grow, the Sunbury-based company combined a 10.7-acre parcel with an undeveloped 9.3-acre parcel.

Dauphin County property records show that Weis bought the site in 2016. Soon after, the company added turning lanes off Linglestown Road to improve access to the store. In the past, Colonial Road was the only way for customers to reach the establishment.

In 1992, the store opened, and in 2020, it started selling wine and beer.
