According to Steelers insider Gerry Dulac, wide receiver George Pickens of the Pittsburgh Steelers may miss the team’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles due to a grade 2 hamstring strain.

Pickens sustained the injury during Thursday’s day practice; he was supposed to play against the Cleveland Browns but was declared out in the end. He was dubious and just partially participated on Friday.

Mike Tomlin, the head coach, was unsure if Pickens would play against the Eagles. According to Dulac, the Steelers initially believed the injury to be minor, but it may be more serious than it seems.

His hamstring ailment is grade 2, meaning it usually lasts two weeks. On WDVE Radio, Dulac stated, “I don’t think they are expecting him to play in Philadelphia either.”

Pickens has been the focal point of the passing attack and is the team’s best wide receiver. It will be difficult for the Steelers to take advantage of the Eagles if he is out against their top-ranked defense, but they would still need to come up with a plan, even if it means losing their best throwing target.
