Dominoes have begun to fall in the Penn State transfer webpage.
T.A. Cunningham, a rookie defensive lineman, intends to use the gateway, which formally opened for the winter on Monday. Cunningham was a contributor on the Instagram post that included the graphic, so he had to accept an invitation before On3 broke the story. He has also been taken off of Penn State’s official roster.
Cunningham, who did not play in any games this season at Johns Creek High School in Atlanta, will still be eligible for his next destination for four more years. For unspecified reasons, he was also sidelined for the first few weeks of the season.
On the 247Sports Composite, Cunningham was rated as the No. 68 player in Georgia and the No. 69 defensive lineman, making him a three-star prospect in the 2024 class. He was an all-conference player at Los Alamitos High School in California as well. Among other offers, Cunningham rejected Georgia, Georgia Tech, and USC in favor of Penn State.
This offseason, it will be interesting to observe Penn State’s defensive line, particularly on the interior. After the playoff run, veteran leaders Dvon J. Thomas’ eligibility will expire, and Coziah Izzard will likely have to make a choice regarding his last year. Although he might receive NFL looks, Junior Zane Durant might make a comeback. Alonzo Ford, an injured rotational defensive end, was a welcome surprise this season and may make a comeback. There is insufficient experience outside of that group.
