Richard Harris, a former WWE wrestler known as Black Bart, is now receiving hospice care.

According to PWInsider.com, his family posted the news on his Facebook page.

According to the message, “I was going to say nothing yet, but I decided to let his people know he is on hospice.” We are grateful for the prayers and hope they will continue, however as I previously stated, he is no longer receiving chemotherapy, and his illness was found to be stage 4 in 2022.

For fans who were still hoping to get autographs from the injured wrestler, the post stated that it was too late.

The post said, “I’ll do my best to keep you fans informed, but right now is a time for family and friends.” He views his business brothers as family. I hope everyone else gets it. However, the close family comes first. As soon as the family is prepared to provide updates, the rest of you will be informed. But don’t believe that our affection for you has diminished. Bart is still hanging in there as of right now. We’re keeping him pain-free and comfortable. For now, that’s all I have to say. I adore you all so much!

In 2023, the 76-year-old made his Stage 4 colon cancer diagnosis public for the first time.

Beginning his wrestling career in 1975, the 6-foot-4, 350-pound native of Arkansas worked for numerous promotions.

Harris played Black Bart in the WWE for a brief period of time, from 1990 to 1991. In 1991, he also worked for WCW, and he kept wrestling until 2002 after leaving that organization.
