Dan Chisena, a former wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State, will get another NFL opportunity after being selected from the practice squad for Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Chisena will play in his first game for the Panthers on Sunday after joining the practice squad in October.

Chisena, a standout on special teams, was not selected in the 2020 NFL Draft after graduating from Penn State. From 2020 to 2022, he was primarily with the Minnesota Vikings. In 2023, he attended training camp with the Steelers but was not selected for the team.

He has played for the Arizona Cardinals, Baltimore Ravens, and now the Panthers in the past year. He has 13 total tackles and one fumble recovery during his NFL career.

Chisena participated on both the football and track teams while attending Penn State. He only saw minimal offensive action, but his 4.3 40-yard dash at Penn State pro day caught the attention of some NFL scouts.

Despite only catching three passes for 58 yards during his final season with the Nittany Lions, his exceptional speed and special teams skills have allowed him to remain in the NFL to this day.
