Former backup quarterback Beau Pribula of the Penn State is reducing his options after declaring his intention to use the transfer portal.

According to 247 Sports, Pribula will travel to Indiana, Iowa, and UCF after visiting Missouri this week.

According to earlier reports, Pribula had communication with Missouri, UCF, and Iowa. Due to the expiration of Ohio transfer Kurtis Rourke’s eligibility, Indiana will need to find a new quarterback.

It’s interesting to note that Indiana will visit Beaver Stadium to play Penn State the following season. On November 8, 2025, the Hoosiers and Nittany Lions will play each other.

Next season, Penn State will travel to Iowa to play the Hawkeyes on October 18, 2025.

On Sunday, Pribula declared that he would not be playing for Penn State during its run for the College Football Playoffs and that he was going to the transfer site. His declaration was made just prior to the announcement on Monday that Penn State star Drew Allaris will likely return for the 2025 campaign.

Penn State and play-caller Andy Kotelnicki found the former Central York star to be a flexible change-of-pace option. Pribula helped the Nittany Lions put opponents on their heels by rushing for 242 yards and five touchdowns. This season, he recorded 187 offensive snaps.

Allar also received knowledgeable cover from Pribula. Both this season at Wisconsin and last year at Rutgers, he came in to replace an injured Allar. Both games were won by Pribula.

After Pribula made what the quarterback described as a “impossible decision” to leave Penn State prior to the CFP, James Franklin spoke extensively on Monday afternoon. The former Penn State backup faced challenges because the transfer portal was open throughout the current season.

Franklin assured him that Beau Pribula had no intention of leaving our program until the end of the season. But the way the portal is, the timing of it, the way our team is playing, and when you play the position of quarterback and there s only one spot and those spots are filling up, he felt like he was put in a no-win situation, and I agree with him.

I think Beau Pribula is a great young man. And each year I would recruit him. With what I currently know, I would absolutely recruit Beau. Beau spent his entire childhood dreaming of attending Penn State. His ideal school is this one. And here, he had an incredible career. And over all, I just want everyone to know that.
