Power conference schools have already expressed interest in Beau Pribula, the former backup quarterback for the Penn State, since he declared his intention to use the transfer site.

According to on3, Missouri, Iowa, and UCF are three noteworthy institutions for Pribula. In his search for a new home, Pribula signed up for the site on Monday and can now communicate with teams.

Under new (and returning) head coach Scott Frost, UCF is searching for quarterback competition. Despite adding Auburn’s Hank Brown through the portal, Iowa is in a similar predicament. Brady Cook, the starter, will be replaced by Missouri. It’s interesting to note that Matt Zollers, a 2025 signee, native of Royersford, and a recruiting target for Penn State, will be considered by the Tigers.

On Sunday, Pribula declared that he would not be playing for Penn State during its run for the College Football Playoffs and that he was going to the transfer site. His declaration was made just prior to the Monday announcement that Penn State star Drew Allaris is anticipated to return for the 2025 campaign.

Former Central York standout Pribula was an offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki’s flexible change-of-pace option. This season, Pribula recorded 187 offensive snaps. He helped the Nittany Lions put opponents on their heels by rushing for 242 yards and five touchdowns.

Allar also received knowledgeable cover from Pribula. Both this season at Wisconsin and last year at Rutgers, he came in to replace an injured Allar. Against the Scarlet Knights, Pribula ran for 71 yards and scored a touchdown. Pribula led Penn State to a second-half comeback victory at Wisconsin after completing 11 of 13 passes for 98 yards and a touchdown.

After Pribula made what the quarterback described as a “impossible decision” to leave Penn State prior to the CFP, James Franklin spoke extensively on Monday afternoon. The former Penn State backup faced challenges because the transfer portal was open throughout the current season.

Franklin assured him that Beau Pribula had no intention of leaving our program until the end of the season. However, he thought that he was placed in a no-win situation because of the portal’s design, its timing, the way our team is performing, and the fact that there is only one quarterback position and those positions are filling up. I agree with him.

I think Beau Pribula is a great young man. And each year I would recruit him. With what I currently know, I would absolutely recruit Beau. Beau spent his entire childhood dreaming of attending Penn State. His ideal school is this one. And here, he had an incredible career. And over all, I just want everyone to know that.
