Years after his stint in Happy Valley, a former Penn State defender is stepping up his game.
Cole Brevard, a defensive tackle, made his second career transfer announcement on the transfer portal on Sunday, pledging to join Texas. In the class of 2020, Brevard, a four-star prospect from Carmel, Indiana, enrolled at Penn State. At the time, he was the state’s top-ranked player.
Before the 2022 season, the 6-3, 333-pound interior lineman transferred to Purdue, where he started all 12 games in 2023 and played in all 37 of 38 games during the previous two seasons. During the previous season with the Boilermakers, Brevard recorded 19 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks.
During his two seasons at Penn State, Brevard played in just one game and kept his redshirt.
