TikToker Jiare Schneider’s family was harassed by scammers who claimed to be keeping him captive and demanding money for his safe release even before his death was found in a Georgian wooded area on November 26.

Even so, his death has been confirmed.

Jasnique Woods, the sister of the internet celebrity, told TMZ that the messages began before her brother was discovered dead after going missing for two weeks, but they continued to arrive even after his passing was verified.

According to her, scammers have threatened the family on several occasions, saying they are holding Schneider against his will and are requesting a ransom to free him.

The 31-year-old went missing for 10 days, as was previously reported.

After a protracted search, Clayton County police told FOX 5 Atlanta that he was later discovered deceased in Jonesboro last week.

In an effort to learn more about his disappearance, missing-person fliers were printed while his family looked for him.

Scammers obtained Woods’ phone number in this way.

Since then, she has received calls from a number of scammers who say they are holding her brother hostage. One caller even demanded $5,000 for his release, sent her a link via text, and told her to pay a Bitcoin ransom. After that, she reported aggravated harassment to the police.

According to TMZ, the case has not yet resulted in any arrests.

It becomes even stranger.

Another caller, according to Woods, had an actor call her and pose as her deceased brother in order to beg for assistance. The con artist even went so far as to beg, “Mommy, help.”

The threats persisted even after the family rejected the cheesy tactics.

Woods described how the scammer threatened to release Jaire if money was paid, and she received this threat on Thanksgiving Day. Another scammer contacted the following day. This time, a woman said, “I have your son,” and then hung up.

Woods changed her phone number because of the constant barrage of abusive calls. Because she is more concerned with grieving over her brother, she also decided not to report every call to the police.

Schneider’s cause of death has not yet been established, and his family is in a desperate search for information about what actually happened to him.
