According to some sources, former child star actor Rory Sykes perished in the California flames.

He was only thirty-two.

According to a post made on X by his mother Shelley Sykes, Sykes, an Australian, was murdered on January 8 when the fire destroyed his family’s estate in Malibu.

“I regret to inform you of the passing of my lovely son, Rory Sykes, who perished in yesterday’s Malibu fires,” she wrote. I’m completely devastated. Rory Callum Sykes, a British-Australian who now resides in America, was the originator of @happycharity alongside me. He is a great humanitarian, a beautiful son, and a gift born on my and his grandmother’s birthday, July 29, 1992.

She wrote that her son struggled to walk and had cerebral palsy from birth.

He endured a lot to learn to walk and regain his sight through surgeries and therapy. He was nevertheless excited about going on a globe tour with me, from Africa to Antarctica, in spite of the discomfort.

She said that her son owned a cottage on their 17-acre Malibu estate, and that because the water was turned off, she was unable to use a hose to extinguish the cinders that jumped to his roof.

All day long, not even the fifty courageous firefighters had water! She went on to say.

Shelley Sykes claimed that her broken arm prevented her from lifting her kid to transport him.

She told Australia’s 10 News First, “He said, ‘Mom, leave me.’ No mother can leave their child.” I was unable to lift him because I had a broken arm. I was unable to move him.

In 1998, Rory Sykes starred in the British television series Kiddy Kapers.

Additionally, he developed into a professional speaker who collaborated with the Cerebral Palsy Alliance and the Tony Robbins Foundation.
