The Pittsburgh Steelers are still working to find ways to stop some of George Pickens’ worst behaviors, but the Cleveland Browns want to let him be terrible. Pickens needs to mature after receiving two unsportsmanlike behavior flags against the Cincinnati Bengals, according to Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin.
He simply needs to mature, dude. The game is emotionally charged. These divisional contests are important. Because he is George, he has a bullseye on his back. He knows that, but he needs to mature, Tomlin stated.
Pickens was urged to calm down by former All-Pro wide receiver Steve Smith, who was notorious for playing with an edge and even getting into arguments with opponents. According to Smith, it’s time to back up once your coach calls you out on your actions.
Smith stated, “He needs to calm down a bit because people are talking about it.” And I’ve been the type of man who knows when someone is talking negatively about you and that it’s going to be a presumption about you. Even when the circumstances may not be entirely consistent, individuals will still trust what they see or what others may say. George is a fantastic football player, so he needs to relax down. If Mike Tomlin tells you that you need to control it, then guess what? He has one of the top coaches in the world who truly works with you.
Pickens rose to become a legitimate top wide receiver this season, but the problems after the whistle have persisted. The Steelers want to get everything they can out of him. The Steelers will have to make a significant choice about Pickens’ future with the team because he is probably going to look for a new deal next season.
