The city of PhiladelphiaLewis Cineto, a safety, has joined the Eagles’ 53-man roster, the organization said Wednesday. After being cut go by Minnesota at the conclusion of training camp, Cine, a 2022 first-round pick of the Vikings, has been on the Buffalo Bills practice squad for the entire 2024 season.

Cine missed the remainder of the 2022 Vikings season after suffering a complex fracture to his lower left leg in a Week 4 game against New Orleans. After suffering a season-ending injury in 2023, Cine was unable to contribute to Minnesota’s defense, recording just one tackle in seven games.

Cinema won’t have a significant impact on Philadelphia’s defense. He will be the last safety to leave the bench in the event of an injury, and if he is available during the playoffs, he will probably play on special teams.

Five of his former Georgia teammates, including defensive tackles Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis, linebacker Nakobe Dean, edge rusher Nolan Smith, and cornerback Kelee Ringo, will join Cine on the Eagles roster. In 2021, he and the Bulldogs won a National Championship in the College Football Playoffs.

Before the season began, the Eagles claimed defensive tackle Byron Young off the Raiders’ waivers, and they opened his 21-day practice window. Due to a hamstring injury, Young has been on injured reserve since October.
