The Eagles’ quarterback in PhiladelphiaSince the first quarter of the Week 16 loss to the Washington Commanders, Jalen Hurts has been under the concussion protocol, which has left his status unclear. Kenny Pickettis, the backup quarterback and native of Ocean Township, was forced to leave last week’s NFC East-winning victory over the Dallas Cowboys due to a rib injury. At Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday afternoon, two quarterbacks with little game experience will face the Giants in the regular-season finale, with Hurts out for the second straight week and Pickett labeled as questionable.
The only quarterbacks present at Friday’s practice at the NovaCare Complex were Tanner McKee and Ian Book, who practiced rollout exercises and simulated snaps under center. Last week, McKee replaced Pickett and completed three of four passes for 54 yards and two scores. This Sunday would be his first NFL start. Book joined the NFL in 2021 and has only appeared in one game, starting on December 27, 2021, for the New Orleans Saints. He completed 12 of 20 throws for 135 yards in that game, but he had two interceptions and no touchdowns.
