When they made the decision to leave early, an 8-year-old girl who had twice survived cancer was with her father at her first NFL game.
During the third quarter, a drunk Bills supporter pushed the girl out of her seat and down the stadium stairs, forcing the family to leave before the game was over.
According to WVIB, Mia DeCamilla, a resident of Rochester, New York, was at Highmark Stadium on Sunday supporting the San Francisco 49ers against the Buffalo Bills with her father, Mike, when the event happened.
Mike remembers the inebriated guest saying, “I’m going to push through all these niner fans.” He literally gave my son and I a slight bump before pushing her past me, nearly sliding off the stairs, and hitting her… on the chairs.
The man deliberately walked through and was pushing people, Mike continues. I understand that you’re busy and stressful, but she weighs less than 100 pounds, and he had to be six feet.
Landing Wire goes on to describe how Mia fell down the section’s unshoveled steps as a result of the shove. The family was so uncomfortable with the fan’s behavior that they fled shortly after.
During her treatment, Mia watched 49ers games with her father, which led to her becoming a huge 49ers fan, according to the same WIVB reports.
“That’s what I like and how I made my team,” Mia told the station, “and when I come home, sometimes for breaks, like in the hospital when I had cancer, I will sit down and just relax and watch football all day.” “My dad and I watch football together in the hospital.”
The Bills organization reprimanded their supporters once the news of her terrible debut game spread, stressing that home games are for the supporters of both teams. Antonio Brown, a former NFL player, also stated that he intends to contact FaceTime Mia.
Mia stated that she had no plans to return to Highmark anytime soon. As of this report’s publication, the identity of the inebriated fan is still unknown.
