Russell Wilson’s performance with the Pittsburgh Steelers this season has left the Denver Broncos perplexed. ESPN insider Dan Graziano claims that while some members of the league have been taken aback by Wilson’s performance in Pittsburgh, no one is more shocked than the Mile High City’s executives.
In order to get go of Wilson following the 2023 season, the Broncos took an NFL record $85 dead cap hit. But Willson has climbed rather than cratered in Pittsburgh. He has more over 1600 passing yards, ten touchdowns, and only three interceptions in his six games with the Steelers.
The individuals who tutored him in Denver over the past two years are probably watching everything unfold. How did you guys manage that? “Graziano said.” He is carrying out the strategy. The checkdowns are being taken by him. I believe I saw a statistic that said they had 150 yards on screens and checkdowns. And after the catch, 245? He is acting in a way that indicates it is working. He isn’t attempting to play the hero, is he? And he is fulfilling all of their requests. Mike Tomlin and Arthur Smith did an amazing job.
The league is so impressed with Arthur Smtih that he is being rumored to be hired as a head coach. The New York Jets position was mentioned as a possible destination for Smith on Thursday.
Wilson will take advantage of free agency to capitalize on his strong start to the season. Even while the Steelers would want to have him return, if he goes on the market in March of next year, there may not be any assurance of that.
