According to PennDOT and Cumberland County 911 dispatchers, a roll-over collision with alleged entrapment shut down a portion of northbound lanes on Interstate 83 north on Friday night.

According to PennDOT, the collision happened just before 7:15 p.m. between exit 40A for Limekiln Road and exit 40B for New Cumberland.

Whether anyone was hurt is unknown. The incident was not classified as a multi-vehicle crash by PennDOT.

Vehicles in the northbound lanes were observed gradually passing emergency vehicles in the right lane, even though PennDOT had marked the area as closed.

The length of time workers will remain at the crash site is unknown.

All westbound lanes on Interstate 283 were blocked Friday night due to another collision in Dauphin County, where at least one tractor-trailer overturned in a forested area, causing fuel to pour.
