According to reports, Wallencould have faced up to six years in prison if the allegations had proceeded in a particular manner. However, the star’s situation turned out to be favorable.
In the end, Wallen was charged with two misdemeanors, and late last week, he entered a guilty plea to those charges in Nashville.Both charges were reckless endangerment, according to Taste of Country, and Wallen will not go to jail as part of the plea deal.
Fans of the contentious artist can therefore exhale with relief.
Taste of Country said that the 31-year-old was first charged with three felony charges of reckless endangerment and one misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. The misdemeanors were a significant step down from the original charges.
After hurling a chair from the roof of Eric Church’s bar in Nashville, Wallen was charged.
When a chair dropped from the roof six floors above them and landed a few feet away, Nashville police said that they were standing in front of Chief’s Bar on Broadway.
They claimed that an examination of the footage revealed the singer hurling something from the roof, and that the bar employees informed them that Wallen had thrown the chair from the sixth story. Witnesses reported that Wallen was laughing after he tossed the chair from the building, according to the police.
According to a PEOPLE Magazine report, Wallen’s case is tricky because of his notoriety and the fact that the chair landed so near to the police. According to the report, he may spend one to two years behind bars for each of his felonies.
He might have faced up to six years in prison as a result.
