Jalen Hurts, the quarterback, has been effective and efficient, averaging 219.6 passing yards per game. After four touchdowns against the Cowboys, he now has 22 for the season after nine games. Saquon Barkley has been a terrific complement to him, helping Philly develop a well-rounded attack.
Commanders eyeing division crown
Although the Eagles were expected to succeed, Washington’s season-long success has mostly come as a surprise. The Commanders suffered a hard 28-27 setback to the Steelers last week, ending their current three-game winning streak. Despite being a revelation this season, rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels only managed a season-low five rushing yards against Pittsburgh. Despite his recent rib injury, he has been able to play when called upon.

Daniels found it difficult to withstand Pittsburgh’s pressure, especially throughout the second half. With the blitz, the Steelers held the quick runner in the pocket, and he missed important throws that could have extended drives or even put Washington ahead. The Eagles might want to give it some thought, even if they don’t apply pressure frequently—they blitz at the seventh-lowest rate in the league (20.8 percent).
