After being shot in the feet by Tory Lanez in 2020, hip-hop artist Megan Thee Stallion has been given a five-year restraining order.
According to Variety and Pitchfork, Judge Richard Bloom confirmed the ruling on Thursday, stating that the Mamushi rapper had met the burden of proof to grant the motion.
Megan, also known as Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, made the motion, alleging that while Lanez is incarcerated, he has been harassing her through third parties. For the 2020 shooting, Lanez is presently receiving a 10-year term.
As she testified on tape, reporter Nancy Dillon stated, “I want my restraining order because I haven’t been at peace since I [was] shot.”I’m constantly an anxious wreck.
The civil harassment restraining order is required to protect Ms. Pete and her well-being because, according to Megan Thee Stallion, Lanez was a violent and dangerous criminal with a well-established pattern of behavior, and he was using bloggers to spread false information about the case.
An earlier restraining order was only valid until 2023.
