In York County, a market will once again be a warehouse.
The statement was made last month by The Markets at Hanover, located at 1649 Broadway in Penn Township.
The Markets at Hanover has changed in appearance, as many of you have observed, according to a Facebook message from the establishment’s officials.Numerous companies and eateries that we (and you) adore have relocated to develop their own physical premises. Over the past ten years, we have enjoyed commemorating each of these achievements. But since 2020, we’ve observed a shift in the Markets’ patronage, and we’ve realized that our existing strategy isn’t working.
Officials declared that they would assist the sellers in finding new residences and that the property will return to its original purpose as a warehouse.
According to the Evening Sun, the Penn Township Zoning Hearing Board approved the plan last month to revert the 38,000-square-foot facility to its original use as a warehouse, subject to two restrictions: no outdoor storage and no tractor-trailer loading or unloading at the location between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m.
According to the article, the property currently has 60,960 square feet of warehouse space in the back of the building, and an additional 8,000 square feet would be used for offices.
I appreciate your unwavering support, everyone. According to officials at The Market at Hanover, we have enjoyed witnessing so many wonderful memories created here.
