George Pickens stoked the second Steelers-Browns meeting by berating the Browns after the game and getting into a brawl with Greg Newsome, the defensive back for the Browns.

As I mentioned earlier, circumstances were a major factor in this game. The Cleveland Browns aren’t a particularly good team, in my opinion. They were somewhat saved today by the circumstances.

Although Pickens hasn’t spoken this week, Ashley Bastock of Cleveland.com spoke with Grant Delpit, Martin Emerson, and Newsome, the defensive backs for the Browns. Of all the statements, Emerson’s was arguably the most direct. He criticized Pickens’ remarks after the game.

Emerson remarked, “I don’t respect it.” I simply believe that you must accept your victories just as you accept your setbacks. As an adult, take it on the chin. I think you make excuses when you don’t do it. I mean, I’m not sure. The reality is what it is at the end of the day. The game was won by us.

After one play, Delpit threw Pickens’ mouthpiece and was penalized. The referees only caught Delpit because of his part in the action, but he accused Pickens of attempting to trip him earlier in the play.

Delpit claims that this week’s motto is to let Pickens be nasty and harm the Steelers rather than react to him. Newsome thought along the same lines.

He claims that Pickens started the altercation rather than him grabbing him. Pickens’ involvement in the event did not result in a citation, which astonished Newsome, but they are okay with his doing it again if he so chooses.

“It’s okay if he wants to do stuff like that. He didn’t even try to catch the ball. That increases our chances. “It’s my responsibility to get rid of my guy, and if he wants to do that, I’m cool with it because he’s hurting his team,” Newsome stated.

Against the Bengals, Pickens received two penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct. After the game, head coach Mike Tomlin stated that Pickens needed to mature. For the Pickens to stay focused and communicate with his play, this game will be crucial.
