Alezander, the boy, had emergency open heart surgery. He was hit in the lips and chest on Sunday by one of the many drones that dropped from the sky during the Holiday Drone Show.
As of Tuesday afternoon, over 840 donations have been made to the Alezander GoFundMe campaign, raising over $24,000 of the $50,000 target.
On X, formerly Twitter, the Federal Aviation Administration declared Saturday night that it is looking into the matter. What caused the drones to crash and fall on Tuesday is yet unknown. The nighttime event was attended by about 25,000 people.
In an interview with WESH-TV, the boy’s other mother, Adriana Edgerton, stated that several drones dropped from the sky while her family was watching the event.
“Ducking and scattering was everyone’s natural instinct,” Edgerton added. Before we knew it, my daughter discovered my son comatose on the floor. Blood was streaming from his face.
A message for response from the city of Orlando on Tuesday was not answered. Technical issues occurred during the performance, according to a news release from the city.
According to the announcement, the Orlando Fire Department responded to reports that a drone had wounded someone just before 7 p.m. The 8 p.m. show was canceled by the city.
The show, which is in its third year in Orlando, was put on by Fort Worth, Texas-based Sky Elements for its second year. Calls and emails for comment on Tuesday were not answered by representatives.
According to a statement issued by the firm on Sunday, Sky Elements Drones wishes everyone affected by our Lake Eola display a complete and quick recovery.
According to the company’s website, one of its goals is to always keep employees, property, and bystanders safe.
According to the website, “safety is our top priority, borderline obsessed.”
Several green and red drones can be seen descending from the sky in videos from the Lake Eola performance that have been shared on social media. One video uploaded to X by user MosquitoCoFL Podcast saw drones descending while the well-known swans of Lake Eola aggressively fluttered their wings before swiftly leaving.
