Diontae Johnson’s stenure in Baltimore does not seem to be going well. Johnson was reportedly showered against the Philadelphia Eagles five weeks after being traded to the Baltimore Ravens, casting doubt on his future with the franchise.
Rashod Bateman, the starter, had a knee injury, but Tylan Wallace and Nelson Agholor, not Johnson, got all the snaps. There has been conjecture over Johnson’s current circumstances, and it appears that this could be the end of his tenure in Baltimore.
Head coach John Harbaugh had a vague response when asked on Monday what was happening with Johnson.
“I’m going to have to wait for now. We will need to identify and investigate some of the moving components there in order to determine our current position. According to Harbaugh, it’s the best I can do to be fair to everyone.
This offseason, Johnson was traded by the Steelers to the Carolina Panthers. The Steelers acquired Donte Jackson in that trade, and he leads the club with five interceptions.
It appears the Steelers made the proper choice given how little the Panthers got out of Johnson and his terrible season in the last year of his deal.
