Foreastern Cochise County is under a blowing dust advisory until 7:00 PM MST on Tuesday in Tucson, Arizona. In certain places, visibility is as low as a quarter-mile.

The Tucson National Weather Service reports that Douglas, Willcox, and locations east of the Willcox Playa near the Arizona-New Mexico state line are among the impacted places. The main area of concern is Interstate 10, where blowing dust could make driving dangerous.

Drivers are advised to use caution because abrupt decreases in visibility might result in hazardous driving conditions. Until the dust settles, anyone with respiratory conditions should stay inside. In the event of a dust storm, the NWS recommends that vehicles pull off the road, turn off their lights, and refrain from pressing their brake pedal.

Residents should stay informed about any changes to the situation even though the alert is scheduled to end at 7 PM MST.
