York County saw the opening of a new Fleet Feethas location.

Previously known as Flying Feet Sports Shoes, the sneaker company opened a new location last month at 1511 Mount Rose Ave. in Spring Garden Township.

After more than 40 years, Flying Feet Sports Shoes’ proprietors, Greg and Celine Baum, retired.

Shelby and Fred Joslyn are the owners and operators of the third store, Fleet Feet. Additionally, the Joslyns opened Feet Fleet locations in Swatara Township in 2023 and Silver Spring Township in 2015.

Fleet Feet York will use Fit ID, the brand’s customized outfitting experience, which includes 3D foot-scanning technology, according to the firm, which is used to precisely measure the size and form of clients’ feet.

We can’t wait to serve the amazing York community in our third site. According to a press statement, Fred Joslyn. We are committed to upholding the solid foundation of personal service and dedication to our clients that Greg and Celine established when they founded Flying Feet. Our objective is to establish a friendly environment where exercise enthusiasts, runners, and walkers of all skill levels may locate the equipment, knowledge, and assistance they require.

Starting at 9 a.m. on March 8, there will be a three-mile community run from the store and freebies all day long as part of the grand opening event.

Fleet Feet, founded in North Carolina, was established in 1976 and now has over 275 locations across 40 states. In Pennsylvania, the business operates seven stores.
