Micah Parsons is suffering just as much as his Dallas Cowboys did on Sunday at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field as a result of his postgame remarks.
Following the Eagles’ 41-7 rout of the Cowboys, the three-time Pro Bowl linebacker spoke with reporters for a little while and addressed all of their inquiries regarding one of the team’s worst defeats in what has been an incredibly long season.
He said enough that social media took advantage of one of his remarks and ran with it, making it the most talked-about post-game event.
He informed reporters they had three solid deep shots and two big runs. We had them earn it, except from that. If you remove the scoreboard, this game was determined by roughly five plays.
The entire interview is available below.
As you can see from these posts from OutkickandFox Sportson X and this sample of comments that piled up beneath the video, however, the response to the scoreboard evaluation was quick.
Although Parsons’ performance wasn’t particularly strong, not many Cowboys stood out amid the Eagles’ second crushing defeat in as many weeks. On November 10, Philadelphia defeated Dallas 34–10.
The former Penn State student and Harrisburg native ended with two tackles, but his most significant contribution was shouldering Pickett after he had released a 22-yard ball to DeVonta Smith for a touchdown in the second quarter that put the Eagles ahead for good.
A week ago, in a game against Washington, Pickett played despite breaking multiple ribs. He would finally exit the game in the third quarter, with the Eagles leading 24–7.
After four NFL seasons, Parsons and the Cowboys are currently 4-4 against the Eagles.
This will be Parsons’ first losing season as a professional, with one game remaining against the Commanders and the Cowboys at 7-9.
Parsons, who missed four games in October and early November due to a high ankle sprain, said, “Definitely not what I envisioned, definitely not what I hoped for.” You say, “Hey, I’m just going to get the same team back and we kind of know what it’s going to look like, what the team is going to be like,” after a heartbreaking playoff defeat.
